We join a world community of practitioners who traditionally sit in early December to recognize Shakyamuni Buddha's enlightenment date, December 8th. This is a powerful silent retreat, called Rohatsu in Japanese, to awaken within the support of a committed practice community.
Roshis Eve and Genro, beloved in the Zen Peacemaker lineage, will offer dharma talks and opportunities for private study. Dana, or a heart donation, will be requested on behalf of the Roshis to honor their life of service, guidance, and teaching the Dharma.
Sitting and walking meditation through the day and evening, along with dharma talks and optional private study, or what we call face-to-face with the Roshis, are designed to help you deepen your experience of ground and connection. Basic instruction for zen meditation can be offered to anyone who requests.
Lunch and dinner provided as vegetarian meals with gluten-free options. Breakfast at home. Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.

COVID POLICY: Vaccination is required, with proof sent to registration prior to arrival. Masks are optional.
LODGING: Lodging is available in a variety of hotels, inns and B&B in Deerfield, Greenfield, Amherst, Hadley and Northampton, MA. Closest are in Deerfield and Greenfield.
FEES: Financial leeway is given by request at registration. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

By Day: $65 members, $70 non-members
Zoom Fee:
