WINTER INTENSIVE 2021
COMMITMENT FORM FOR WINTER INTENSIVE, 2021
MAKING VOWS
We usually ask people to make some commitment for each winter’s 3-month Intensive. This year, rather than making commitments, consider making vows. They have greater significance and are planted deeply in the soil of our karma.
For the purpose of this form, don’t be concerned about their scope or focus. It can be something like: I vow to speak to my grandson at least once a week during the Intensive, I vow to take extra care of my partner, I vow to study a certain text, I vow to sit for 108 days consecutively, I vow to be more present for my patients or clients, etc. You will have a chance to formulate deeper personal vows during two one-day workshops on the making of vows that will be given by Myokan and Roshi Eve on Zoom on Saturdays, February 27 and March 27.
Please write one or more vows below. On the evening of Tuesday, January 19, please have this form near you, preferably on an altar or some space that holds a candle and incense. As we go around during our Entering Ceremony, you will be asked to recite one of your vows and cense this form.
